Stamping on clay

Bought some cheap stamps at the 1 euro shop and made some ornaments with them. Could be used to make ornaments for kid's rooms, nursery, etc.

Earthly air dry clay decorative dish

Perfect imprint of the leaf I picked on the streets. Was extremely satisfied with the outcome.

A tinge of brown colour and sponged off the colour all around to get the texture and look to this piece. Loved the entire experience and the final result!!

Clay Krishnas

I had got a Krishna key chain which I loved and after getting the silicone putty, the first thing I wanted to duplicate was this. It was a bit tricky to get the mould done in the right way but surprisingly it came out pretty well. I was lucky, that the putty was not wasted even though it was the first thing I tried.

 The details are pretty good, which I really did not expect. I painted some with acrylic paints and some with nail paint. I liked the acrylic paints since I could remove some parts of it to make the face more visible.

Air dry clay heart pot

I was obsessed with this heart pot. 100% handmade, painted with acrylic colours, I love the feel of this pot. Looks rough but is actually smooth as butter. I applied many coats of acrylic glaze to get the smoothness in the piece.

Air dry clay love with wings

 I used molds to get these cute love with wings. Just love them, and I wish to hang them all around in my studio, when I have one!! :)

They can be used as hanging decor, fridge magnets,brooches, etc.

Fish in the sea clay pot

Using the coiling technique,I have made this clay holder. It was fun making this product because it bent while drying. I must say this technique is a bit tricky. You must analyse the wetness of the clay and decide how to coil it up. Coiling technique is simple, something which we have been doing since childhood I must say, but making them into pots is another thing. placing the coils carefully one on top of the other and securing them in a way that they do not split apart is all that is needed to make this pot.

The foundation or the base is the most important thing in the process.  one the foundation coil is laid, the first layer of coil is placed. After that the first layer and the base need to be joined together by squishing the clay from both the base and the coil to make a solid contact. Then the next layers of coils are placed.

 After drying the layers easily stick to each other and form a nice cute little pot.

To Mom Jewellry Dish in air dry clay

A simple dish. Inspired by one of the most precious gifts in our lives, MOTHER, this one was made for mom.

 By embedding a leaf into the clay and giving subtle orange, brown and green shades, I made this piece dedicated to moms all over the world. The shape was a free hand carving of a bird. I chose a bird, as they too take care of their young and finally make their young independent and strong.

The colors I chose were to symbolize the sacrifice (orange), that mothers make and the rough weather ( brown) they handle in order to raise their little ones.The tinge of green symbolizes the  independence she teaches us, to be successful in our lives.

This can be a wonderful gift to moms as a show of love and appreciation.

Red Clay heart

Playing with clay is both interesting and relaxing. I say playing, since even work feels like play with clay.. :)).

I used air dry clay for this, since that is the most easily available type of clay here and I do not have a separate oven to bake polymer clay.  

 After millions of video lessons I self taught myself to mold this with the pinching technique. This is a very simple technique and one of the first lessons in clay. Pinch pots are simple and literally anyone could make it. 

Since this was white air dry clay, I could paint it with acrylic paints after the piece dried completely. I also sanded and polished the piece before I painted it. To finally seal the piece I used an acrylic sealant.

The clay heart can be used in many ways, as a home decor, a jewellery holder or a ring holder.
