Air dry clay Birds and Butterfly
Fell in love with these birds. Hand cut and handmade these different sized birds are fun to have around. Hang it to strings and make a bird mobile or hang them in different areas in the house.
Fun home decor :)
Some more birds. I applied 3d dimensional magic modge podge to each of these tiny birds. give a plastic shine to the birds.
I used a plastic mold for the butterfly. :)
Cabbage art and broken leaves on clay
I messed up a beautiful leaf that I had picked up on the street. Felt miserable after having broken the clay piece because it was too thin. One must take utmost caution while sanding the clay especially near the thin areas. If anybody has some ideas about sanding thin areas please let me know.
:)
Air dry clay Indian lady doll
An Indian lady in saree doll with air dry clay. I made this using a plastic bottle as base for the body and run a stick through the head and fixed it to the bottle. Wrapping an air dry clay saree around the doll was easy.
The toughest part of the process was ......The WAITING PERIOD. This seems to be the most challenging thing for me since I am too impatient to wait for the clay to dry and want to get to the result.
So I had to wait for each part to dry , then assembled each of them and again waiting till they finally dried till I could paint. It is tricky to paint faces on clay but I guess practice makes a man perfect...:)
